Allie's Cupcakes

 

 Allie's Cupcakery & Café is an eatery years in the making.  In fact, you might say that its origins date all the way back to 1949!  That was the year Josephine Pistilli, my grandma, opened Pistilli's Family Restaurant in Bernardsville, NJ.  She spent years cooking, expanding, and perfecting her business.  Having lived a stone's throw away (literally) from her restaurant until my early twenties, I spent most of my time learning and working by my grandma's side.
Meanwhile, in 1984, my mom, Susan Wilkie, founded Dessert Creations, a business dedicated to serving the restaurant industry and general public quality desserts, made from scratch with the finest ingredients.  Eventually, my mom passed the torch (and her delicious recipes) on to me.  Now, years later, with me at the helm, Dessert Creations continues to supply quality desserts to restaurants in New Jersey's Somerset, Morris, Warren, and Hunterdon Counties (and even a few in Pennsylvania!).
Even with all of this history, the true driving force behind Allie's Cupcakery & Café was my daughter Allie's love of cupcakes.  She enjoyed curling up next to me to watch our favorite cupcake-themed TV shows, and we even visited Georgetown Cupcake's flagship shop in Washington, DC!  The thought of cupcakes, and their endless combinations, tastes, and possibilites excited Allie!  And, although she was granted her angel wings in April of 2012, after a two year battle with cancer, her excitement lives on in those she touched while she was here.  Each week during the summer and autumn of 2012, Allie's cousins celebrated Cupcake Sunday in her memory and voted for their  favorite cupcake flavor combinations for our family to try.  And now, I am proud to share our favorites with you! ~Jessica Pistilli
